Early Decision vs. Early Action: Which is Right for You?
Choosing between Early Decision (ED) and Early Action (EA) is a strategic decision that can affect your admission chances and financial aid options.
Early Decision (ED)
ED is binding. If you are accepted, you must attend that college and withdraw all other applications. This is a great option if you have a clear first-choice school.
Early Action (EA)
EA is non-binding. You apply early and receive an earlier decision, but you have until May 1st to decide. This gives you more flexibility to compare financial aid packages.
Which one to choose?
If you are 100% sure about a school and don't need to compare financial aid, ED might give you a slight statistical advantage. If you want more options and flexibility, EA is the way to go.
